The Syzygy strain is a historically important Psilocybe cubensis variety with direct ties to legendary ethnobotanists Terence and Dennis McKenna, who helped introduce it to the public in the 1970s. Named after their publishing company, "Syzygy," this strain is believed to have originated from spores collected in the Amazon rainforest and quickly gained popularity for its genetic stability, fast colonization, and robust spore production.

Syzygy is known for producing medium to large fruiting bodies with thick stems and classic golden-brown caps. Under magnification, its spores are prized for their consistency, contrast, and clarity, making them an excellent choice for microscopy and taxonomic study. With its rich cultural history and dependable genetics, Syzygy remains a favorite in spore collections around the world.
