Physical Characteristics:

Stem: 50-125 mm in length, yellowish in color. The stem features a fleshy interior that bruises bluish-green upon injury. It has a persistent membranous annulus (ring) from the partial veil, which becomes dusted with purple-brown spores as it matures.
Gills: Attachment is adnate to adnexed, with a grayish coloration in young fruit bodies that turns nearly black with maturity.
Spores: Dark purplish-brown, subellipsoid in shape, measuring 13 by 8 micrometers on 4-spored basidia.
