Origin: Unknown
Habitat: Bovine, equine dung, and enriched soils
Climate: Subtropical
Cap: 50+ mm in diameter, initially convex to broadly convex, becoming plane at maturity. Reddish cinnamon brown maturing to golden brown to light yellow. Surface is dry with pronounced, persistent remnants of the universal veil, giving the cap a speckled appearance. Flesh is white, soon bruising bluish green.
Stem: 125+ mm in length, yellowish in color. Flesh bruises bluish green when injured. Features a persistent membranous annulus (ring) that becomes dusted with purple-brown spores at maturity.
Gills: Adnate to adnexed, grayish when young, becoming nearly black at maturity.
Spores: Dark purplish brown, subellipsoid on 4-spored basidia.
