Strain Information:
Origin: The original specimen was collected from buffalo dung in an unplanted rice paddy near Yangon (Rangoon), Burma (now Myanmar). It was supplied via Mushroom John, a gift from a Thai student who gathered mushroom samples from the area.
Cap: 25-50+ mm in diameter, starting convex to broadly convex, then flattening at maturity. Reddish cinnamon brown maturing to golden brown with nearly white edges. The cap’s surface is dry, lacking remnants of the universal veil, and the flesh bruises bluish-green.
Stem: 150+ mm in length, yellowish with flesh bruising bluish green where injured. It features a persistent membranous annulus from the partial veil, which becomes dusted with purple-brown spores at maturity.
Gills: Adnate to adnexed, grayish in young fruit bodies, turning nearly black as they mature.
Spores: Dark purplish brown, subellipsoid on 4-spored basidia.
