Strain Information:
Origin: Unknown. This version (Type 2) is the more common B+ strain circulating today but is not the original B+ (Type 1, or B+ Classic). Its origins are unclear, having replaced the original strain after Sporeworks merged with Shroom Depot.
Cap: Brown, flattening and fading with age.
Stem: Yellow, thin, and hollow, with a membranous annulus that separates easily from the cap and persists neatly on the stem.
Spore Production: Known for good spore production.
Spores: Dark purplish brown, subellipsoid, measuring 13 by 8 micrometers on 4-spored basidia.
Comments:
The B+ Type 2 strain is widely circulated due to its early production and superior spore printing, but it is not the original B+ (Type 1). Its exact origins are uncertain, having replaced the classic B+ without much notice.
