The Lizard King strain is a unique and adventurous variety of Psilocybe cubensis, named after the legendary nickname of rock icon Jim Morrison. It is believed to have been originally collected by a Mexican spore enthusiast known as “The Lizard King,” who found the strain growing near ancient ruins. Since then, it has gained popularity in the microscopy community for its fast colonization, strong mycelial networks, and high spore production.
Lizard King typically produces slender, medium-to-large fruiting bodies with elongated stems and wide caps, offering an excellent subject for microscopic analysis. Its consistency and robustness make it a great choice for beginners and seasoned researchers alike who are interested in studying classic cubensis features with a bit of historical mystique.
