The Casper strain is a rare and visually unique Psilocybe cubensis variety named for its ghostly, pale-white appearance—similar to a leucistic or albino phenotype. Often considered a visual cousin to Albino A+ or Avery’s Albino, Casper is noted for its reduced pigmentation, thick stems, and dense, compact fruiting body structures. Though true albino spores are nearly colorless, Casper typically produces dark purple to black spores, offering striking contrast for microscopy. Its rarity and aesthetic qualities make it a prized strain among spore collectors and researchers studying spore formation and genetic variation in leucistic cubensis strains.
