Avery’s Albino is a visually stunning leucistic variety of Psilocybe cubensis, known for its ghost-white coloration and unique genetic lineage. Thought to be derived from the Cambodian strain, Avery’s Albino exhibits rapid colonization and dense, compact fruiting bodies with minimal pigmentation. Unlike true albino mushrooms, leucistic varieties like Avery’s still retain some color in their spores—typically purple to dark brown—but the fruiting bodies themselves appear pale or bluish-white. Microscopists are often drawn to Avery’s Albino due to its distinct morphology, fast mycelial growth, and rarity in nature.
